Term dates

  • UBC Term 1 (Bocconi Semester 1): early September - late December
  • UBC Term 2 (Bocconi Semester 2): mid-February - early June

*Arrangements can be made for students wishing to attend Term 1 only and return to UBC in time for January term

Course availability and restrictions

  • Incoming exchange students have option to choose courses from every degree course, department and year
  • Undergraduate students only permitted to select courses at undergraduate level (codes 30xxx and some 50xxx)
  • Graduate students may select courses both at undergraduate and graduate levels (courses 20xxx and 50xxx)

Course equivalency Formula

  • ECTS credits divided by 2 = UBC credits

Course load Information

  • Exchange students may take 2-5 courses per term
  • Usual workload per semester is 4 courses

Transfer credit

The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

Additional note for language of instruction

  • Wide range of courses offered in English and Italian
  • Students with at least a B2 level may take Italian-taught courses (To determine your level, self-assess using this European Language Portfolio Global Scale)
  • Housing and course selection in higher demand and more limited in Term 1 - Students are encouraged to consider applying for Term 2 exchange
