Course availability and restrictions
- Courses taught in English can be found here
- Exchange students are required to choose the majority of their courses from one faculty
- Economics, Psychology, Communication, and Political Science have restrictions regarding acceptance (both for local and exchange students) - they only accept students who are majoring in the subject in question and have completed enough courses in the discipline in their home university prior to arrival
- Psychology majors should check which of the following is more suitable considering their study background: Social Psychology courses (Faculty of Social Sciences) or Psychology courses (Faculty of Behavioral Sciences)
- English Philology only accepts students majoring in English
- Other foreign languages: student should be a major or minor in the language at the home university
- These studies are considered case by case
- Economics courses in English offered on Master’s level only
Course equivalency Formula
- 2 ECTS credits = 1 UBC credit
Course load Information
- 60 ECTS credits in an academic year
- 30 ECTS credits per academic term
Transfer credit
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

- Courses taught in Finnish are offered, in addition to English and Swedish
- Students must have at least a B2 level to study in Finnish or Swedish (self-assess with: European Language Portfolio Global Scale)
