Course availability and restrictions

  • Sauder School of Business students on exchange at UCD can only take 2 modules (per semester) outside the Quinn School of Business
  • Exchange students in UCD can take less than six modules per semester if they have the permission of their home university but they must take a minimum of four modules per semester in order to be considered full-time
  • The International Office registers students for their chosen courses - students have a two week add/drop period from the first day of classes to make changes to their course registration
  • Language courses: Students can take one English as a foreign language module worth 5 credits each semester
  • Please research applicable course restrictions on UCD's exchange website

Course load Information

  • UCD uses the European Credit Transfer System
  • Full course load: 30 credits per semester
  • At undergraduate level each module is worth 5 credits and students take six modules per semester

Transfer credit

The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)
