- Most universities in Germany provide a “Schein," which you will receive for each course completed - make sure to keep it for your records and provide a copy to Go Global upon return from exchange

Transfer credit
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

Additional note for language of instruction
- Students can take courses in both English and German*
- *Students must have at least a B1 level to study in German (To determine your level, please self-assess with: European Language Portfolio Global Scale)
- German language courses are also available to students, with introductory German language courses from levels A1 to C2
- Although Bachelor degree programmes are usually taught in German, most programmes include courses taught in English in their course catalogue
- On the Master level, the University of Konstanz offers programmes taught in German or programmes taught entirely in English
Orientation
- Students are able to choose between one of two Orientation programmes (mandatory):
- GO-Konstanz (4 weeks): March or September, intensive German language course with orientation programme (see OriPro, below), organised by the International Office and the Language Institute (SLI). Groups of about 15 participants are taught by experienced instructors up to level C1. There is a program fee of 350€.
- OriPro (1 week): April or October, orientation programme shortly before the start of the semester; Information on course selection with coordinators of the departments, getting to know the structures of the University and applying for a residence permit for non-EU/EEA students. Free of charge.
