Course availability and restrictions
- All faculties are open for exchange students and the international office offers a number of classes especially designed for students coming from abroad
- Most universities in Germany provide a “Schein," which you will receive for each course completed - Make sure to keep it for your records and provide a copy to Go Global upon return from exchange
- The course catalog (Vorlesungsverzeichnis) can be found here (please note that course catalogs are published 2-3 months before the beginning of each semester)
- To familiarize yourself with the layout and to get an idea of course offerings at UBonn, check out the previous winter and summer semesters' course offerings (Please be aware, these are subject to change)
Notes about English-taught course offerings
- Please note that at the undergraduate level, there is a limited number of courses taught in English. Thus, advanced proficiency in German is highly recommended for undergraduate students (see more below).
- To find courses taught in English, see here. Select the flag icon at the top right-hand corner to translate the search tool to English and select "English" as the language of instruction.
- See this page for information about English-taught courses in the Department of Economics.
- International Classroom Bonn
- To supplement the number of English-taught classes at the undergraduate level, the seminar series International Classroom Bonn offers additional English-taught undergraduate courses for both exchange students and students from the University of Bonn. This interdisciplinary course selection aims to broaden the students’ academic horizons and enables them to connect with students outside of their field and from around the world.
Course equivalency Formula
- ECTS credits divided by 2 = UBC credits
