Course availability and restrictions
- Sudents participate in the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) - designed for international exchange students
- Provides students with the opportunity to acquire a firm understanding of Japan and its place in the international community
- Program divided into two courses:
- Japan Studies Course — at least 5 classes per week of Japanese language instruction, and at least 2 elective classes per week in other subjects (conducted in English)
- Intercultural Studies Course — at least 3 classes per week of Japanese language instruction, and at least 3 elective classes per week in other subjects (conducted in English)
Course equivalency Formula
- JAPN TUFS units = UBC credits
- TUFS integrated Japanese units x 2 = UBC credits
- Other TUFS units = UBC credits
Transfer credit
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)
