Course availability and restrictions
- Students are not restricted to choosing courses from within their college of enrollment
- When selecting courses, ensure that they are available in the semester for which you are applying
Course equivalency Formula
- 1 major course = 2 credits
- 1 language class = 4 credits
Course load Information
- Normal Courseload: 32 credits per year
Transfer credit
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

Additional note for language of instruction
- Courses offered in English and Japanese
- It is not necessary for International Exchange Students to have any pre-existing knowledge of Japanese in order to come to APU
- Japanese is offered from Introductory to Advances Level in addition to specialized language study such as Media, Business and Interpreting
- Japanese Language Courses Open to: ARTS OR COMM
