  • Arts undergraduate and graduate students
  • Exchange students should have a GPA of at least 2.5 out of a 4.0 scale

  • UBC Term 1 (NCCU Fall Semester): early September - mid January
  • UBC Term 2 (NCCU Spring Semester): late February - late June

*Students participating in a Term 1 exchange who wish to return to UBC for Term 2, should only enrol in OIC courses

*Students registered in courses in other departments may still be able to return to UBC for Term 2, but will need to seek the permission of their lecture professor to do so

  • International MBA and Extended Minor courses with a credit fee are not available to exchange students

  • 1 credit at NCCU = 1 credit at UBC

Transfer credit

The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

Additional note for language of instruction

  • Students who want to take classes taught in Chinese are advised to have Chinese proficiency at least equivalent to TOCFL Superior / HSK (Level 4)
  • Students who want to take classes taught in English are advised to have English proficiency at least equivalent to TOEFL iBT 79-80 / IELTS 6.0 / TOEIC 700 / CEFR B2

While you’re learning abroad, you remain a UBC student and are eligible for UBC awards, scholarships, and financial assistance.
