Course availability and restrictions
- Programs in Arts, Business, Computer Science, Sustainability, Geographical Sciences, Education, Design, Neuroscience, Medieval Studies, Philosophy. English, Urban Studies, Social Justice
- Your program at DIS is determined by your choice of a "core course"
- Core courses include a week-long Program Study Tour to a European destination and a Core Course Week, comprised of a two-day seminar on-site, and three-day short study tour within the country, or to a nearby destination. - In addition to their core course, students register for "elective courses"

Course equivalency Formula
3 DIS credits = 3 UBC credits
Course load Information
Students take 15 credits
Transfer credit
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

Finances and funding
While you’re learning abroad, you remain a UBC student and are eligible for UBC awards, scholarships, and financial assistance.

- You will pay tuition directly to the partner institution. All prices quoted on the partner's website are in USD.
- UBC students will receive a $5000 USD discount for studying with DIS for the semester. For details, please contact Go Global.
- The partner institution may charge other fees. Please check the program website for details of program costs.
- We currently don't have a way for students on Study Abroad for Term 1 or Full Year to be automatically enrolled in the AMS/GSS Extended Health and Dental (including travel medical insurance), as Study Abroad students are not assessed UBC tuition and AMS fees. This policy is subject to change.

Awards & Scholarships
All students are automatically considered to receive either the Go Global Award ($1000) or Go Global Scholarship ($1500) for each term that they are abroad.
