Course availability and restrictions
- Exchange students cannot take courses in specific subject areas (for more information on restricted programs of study, see here)
Course equivalency Formula
- PUC 3.33 = UBC 1.0 credits
- Language Courses - 6 credits (PUCC) = 3 UBC Credits
Transfer credit
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

Additional note for language of instruction
- Mainly Spanish and limited English courses
- Spanish Language Proficiency Assessment is required
- PUC requires that four semesters worth of Spanish be previously taken at UBC or a language proficiency form signed by an instructor of Spanish from the Department of French, Hispanic, and Italian Studies
- One optional intermediate level Spanish Course for is offered in March to exchange students free of charge (recommended for those who do not pass the diagnostic Spanish test)
- Advanced level Spanish Course is also offered for a cost of US$350
