Course availability and restrictions
- Undergraduate students should be selecting from 1000 – 3000 level courses only. Some courses may be restricted to students undertaking particular ANU degrees or study options and are not available to other students.
- 1000 Level – usually does not require permission but should still be included in your application.
- 2000 & 3000 Level – for any course nominated at this level, you will need to include a course outline from your home institution in your application showing that you have met the pre-requisite requirements. If applicable, reference the ANU pre-requisite courses and consider a similar one that you have taken.
- 4000 Level – these courses are, typically, restricted to ANU Honours students only.
- 6000 – 8000 Level – these courses are Postgraduate level and not available to students at the undergraduate level.
- If coming to ANU as a Postgraduate student, you will need to provide course outlines to meet all pre-requisite requirements for any courses at this level.
- Visual Arts: applicants must submit a portfolio of 12-15 images (slides, photographs, CD (jpeg files), or a website)
- Music: applicants must submit a quality audio/video recording of themselves performing
- Musicology and composition students should check with the mobility program about access to coursework
Course equivalency Formula
- 6 ANU credit points = 4 UBC credits
Course load Information
- Full course load is 24 ANU units per semester (usually 4 courses at 6 units each)
Transfer credit
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)
