About the program

The Pembroke Cambridge Summer Programme (formerly called Pembroke-King's Programme or PKP) offers a unique opportunity for students to experience life as a Cambridge student over six weeks. Living in Pembroke College, students choose three courses, from around 30 on offer, all ‘Cambridge’ in style (small-group teaching), content and standard. Outside of class, a diverse and fun range of social, cultural and sporting activities are on offer, together with exciting travel options around the UK and Europe.

Independent Supervision Project

As part of the program, students interested in research can replace one of their three courses with an independent supervision option that allows for independent, self-directed research on a topic of their choice, working one-on-one with a Cambridge supervisor and expert in the field. Most students choose supervision topics in subjects such as English, History, Politics, Linguistics, Religion and Philosophy, Sciences, Engineering, Law, Economics, Finance and Business. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to do lab-based science supervisions.

Please note that extra fees apply, and research is for personal interest only, not for credit transfer at UBC.

Note: Students interested in the Pembroke Online Summer Research Programme should apply through Research Abroad

Please consult your Academic Advisor if you are planning to take or transfer Econ courses from your summer experience.

Students who participate in the Independent Supervision Project may or may not earn transfer credits (determined at the discretion of your UBC home faculty).

Check out the courses that previous students have transferred back to UBC in the last 5 years using our Course Search Tool. If you don't see a particular course you listed, it simply means you need to submit it as a new course request through the Transfer Credit Portal while on your Go Global experience. For more information, please visit the Go Global Transfer Credit webpage.

Not all courses listed are offered through the summer program at this partner institution. The tool is for reference only–research the partner's website for actual course offerings.
