About the program
At the world's oldest English-speaking university, ECSP spans six weeks and offers a diverse array of cross-disciplinary lectures taught by leading scholars. Students will enroll in two courses and engage in a tutorial system unique to Oxford University, characterized by intimate, discussion-driven learning within small groups.
Individual Research Tutorial
As part of ECSP, students have the option to conduct independent, self-directed research on a topic of their choice through Individual Research Tutorial (IRT), working one-on-one with an expert at Oxford. IRT is taken in lieu of one ECSP lecture course. Academic areas most suitable fo IRT are Humanities (Literature, History, Languages, Art History, Classics) and Social Sciences (Politics, Economics (not econometrics), Law, Anthropology, Geography, and International Relations).
To be eliglible for IRT, students must be admitted to ECSP and must submit a separate application and proposal, afterwhich the Academic Director pairs the student with a suitable tutor. Please note that extra fees apply, and research is for personal interest only, not for transfer credit at UBC.
More specific and finalized program details can be found on the partner institution's website. However, you must apply through Go Global to be considered for this program and ensure you follow the appropriate transfer credit process.
