  • UBC Term 1 (Zhejiang Autumn and Winter Semester): Mid September to Mid January
  • UBC Term 2 (Zhejiang Spring and Summer Semesters): Late February to Early July 
  • UBC Full Year (Zhejiang Autumn, Winter, Spring + Summer Semester): September - July

*Please note that if you go on a term 1 exchange to Zhejiang, you will not be able to return to UBC in time for Term 2 classes

  • 20 Zhejiang Credits = 15 UBC credits 

Course load Information

  • 20 credits per semester = full time course load

Transfer credit

The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

  • There are a limited range of undergraduate and graduate courses taught in English
  • Chinese proficiency required if taking regular classes
  • Students who are fluent in Mandarin may enrol in courses taught in Mandarin

Finances and funding

While you’re learning abroad, you remain a UBC student and are eligible for UBC awards, scholarships, and financial assistance.

Financial Planning 

Awards & Scholarships  
All students are automatically considered to receive either the Go Global Award ($1000) or Go Global Scholarship ($1500) for each term that they are abroad. 

Canadian passport holders attending this institution will be automatically considered for CLIC funding.
