- Exchange students can take coursework in most areas of study
- Students must have completed 1 year of continuous study at their home institution before participating in the exchange
- Students must have a minimum 70% cumulative average to attend this partnership

Course availability and restrictions
- Exchange students are restricted from the following Academic Schools at Cardiff:
- Dentistry, Healthcare Sciences, Medicine, Optometry, Pharmacy, Architecture
- Psychology, Politics, Journalism - Very limited module availability.
- Biosciences - year-long only
- Chemistry - mainly year-long study.
- When selecting courses, ensure that they are available in the semester for which you are applying
- Please research applicable course restrictions on the University of Cardiff's exchange website
Course equivalency Formula
- Cardiff credits divided by 4 = UBC credits
Course load Information
- A full load of modules is 120 credits per academic year, or 60 credits per semester
- Students are required to take 60 credits while on exchange, and are requested to select 80 credits on their application to Cardiff
Transfer credit
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)
