About the program
Program Dates: June - July
The Aga Khan University’s Virtual Internship Programme (AKU-VIP) provides you with a one-of-a-kind virtual placement to build valuable skills and enhance your cross-cultural competencies through work opportunities with diverse teams in more than 14 countries.
Interns will work virtually with organizations located in East Africa, South and Central Asia, Europe and North America with the international development agencies of The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) - One of the world’s largest networks that work on programmes dedicated to improving the quality of life and opportunities of vulnerable communities and spans across 30 countries.

Costs and funding
In addition to paying the Go Global fee following the Go Global deadline, students are responsible for the costs associated with participating in this program.
Virtual Research Programs Pre-Departure Policy
UBC is committed to preparing students for successful international experiences. In order to achieve this, any student participating in a Go Global Program must complete the Go Global program-specific pre-departure requirements.
Failure to successfully complete these and any other requirements may result in withdrawal from the Go Global Program.

Transfer credit
UBC does not recognize credit for Research Abroad programs and does not grant transfer credit for these experiences. If a partner university offers credit for your Research Abroad program, save the transcript or certificate of completion for your future records.
